Vascular Surgery Procedures


Vascular surgery is a surgical specialty where diseases of the vascular system (arteries and veins) are managed either through medical therapy or through surgical intervention. Vascular surgeons are trained in the diagnosis and management of diseases involving all parts of the vascular system except of the heart and brain. A few of the diseases treated by vascular surgeons includes ischemia, aneurysm, extracranial cerebrovascular (carotid) disease, and venous disease (including varicose veins).

Evaluation of Vascular Patients 

To aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of vascular diseases, Middle Tennessee Surgical Specialists, offers in-office Ultrasound services. This serves as both a convenience to our patients and allows the physicians to diagnose the patient before leaving the office.

  • In-office Carotid Ultrasound (performed and evaluated)
  • In-office Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound (performed and evaluated)
  • In-office Venous Mapping
  • In-office Peripheral Vascular Imaging
  • In-office Arterial Brachial Index Study
  • In-office Saphenous Vein Reflux Study
  • In-office Pulse Volume Reporting (PVR) for claudication
  • Arteriography performed by Vascular Surgeons and evaluated by Vascular Surgeons
